Become a SURS Trustee!

The State Universities Retirement System will hold a trustee election in the spring of 2024. Members are encouraged to apply to be a candidate starting this fall. On May 1, 2024, SURS members will elect three active-member trustees and one annuitant trustee. The voting period for the election is April 1 – May 1, 2024. The election will be conducted by the independent firm YesElections. SURS encourages all eligible members to consider running for a seat on the board.

ELECTION TIMELINE

• Petition circulation period: Oct. 1, 2023 - Jan. 31, 2024

• Petition validation and candidates slated: February - March 2024

• Voting period: April 1 - May 1, 2024

• Election results announced: May 2024

• Terms begin: July 2024
