Professor of Law Ann Louisin on Potential for Another Constitutional Convention to Address Pensions

UIC law professor Ann Louisin speaks at the SUAA Fall Meeting on 10/25/23 about the likelihood of the state calling for a new constitutional convention to replace the constitution passed in 1970. She discusses which issues might be the most significant to be addressed during a future "con con," including the degree of benefits received by state pensioners. Protecting Pensions and Improving Tier Two Pensions

From the SUAA annual Fall meeting, Pat Devaney, the Secretary Treasure for the Illinois AFL-CIO, addresses the SUAA audience on the AFL-CIO's, and their allies', efforts to protect Illinois pensions during these troubling economic times, and the legislative path forward to reform the Tier Two pensions so that Tier Two pension recipients, future and current, receive similar, if not equal, benefits as that of Tier One pensioners.
