2026 Call for Nominations

Prior to our Friday, June 26, 2026, Annual Meeting of the House of Delegates of the State Universities Annuitants Association, the Nominating Committee* calls for nominations to the following offices:

Each office is for a two-year term

• President

• Treasurer

• Region 1 Director, Community College: Seat currently held by Marilyn Westerhoff (ECC), eligible for re-election

• Region 2 Director, Community College: Seat currently held by Diane Koenig (RVC), eligible for re-election

• Region 3 Director, University: Seat currently held by Tanya Gallagher (UIUC), eligible for re-election

A nominee may be nominated by someone or be self-nominated. 

Qualifications for each office require that the nominee has been a member of SUAA for at least two years. Positions are open to those who are currently working and to those who are retired.

Before nominating someone for the above offices, please contact that person to be certain that he or she would be willing to serve if elected.

SUAA’s Executive Director, Bryan Soady, will be responsible for collecting the nominations.  Nominations are welcome by email - BSoady@SUAA.org .

The following information is to be included:

1. Full name of the person being nominated

2. The nominee’s email address

3. The SUAA office for which the person is to be nominated.  (Note openings above.)

4. A completed copy of the Nomination Form

In order to be considered by the Nominating Committee, all SUAA nominations must be received by the Executive Director by noon (central daylight time) on Friday, May 29, 2026.

*The members of the 2026 Nominating Committee are:

Region 1:    University – Merril Gassman – UIC

                     Community College – Carol DiCola, Oakton College                      

Region 2:    University – Linda Farr - Western Illinois University

                     Community College – VACANT

Region 3:    University – Jo Gibson, SIUE

                     Community College – Karin Randolph, Joliet Community College
